I am a mother. I have a wonderful little boy who is my joy. Every day I am in awe at how fast he is growing, how much he is learning, how his little mind works, and the fact that I helped bring him into this world. We am raising him in a semi-crunchy way. We practice redirecting and gentle discipline. We did use cloth diapers and started Elimination Communication with him at 4 months as a result he has been a 'daytime grad' since 18m. We co-slept for 10 months and still snuggle with him when needed. We don't eat organic or veggy, but admire those that do. We won't be home schooling him because, for us, it isn't the right choice. We do treat him like a person and take his needs and wants seriously. We do get down on the floor to play and act silly with him because it keeps us all young. :)

I love to read. I have a "early reader" book which says on the inside of the front cover "read by Justy, age 5," I've not slowed down from that start. The amount books we own would rival a small library, but I can't see getting rid of them. I might want to read them again and in fact I do re-read many of my books. I recently got a PDA and have filled my SD card with books, books, and fanfic. Fictionwise.com is a wonderful thing! Sci Fi and Fantasy are my all time favorite styles, but I will also read contemparary fiction, biographies, cereal boxes, comic books, and anything else I can get my hands on. I have recently discovered Audiobooks and now enjoy having my favourite stories read to me while I drive to work. I arrive so much more relaxed then I did when I was listening to the news on the way to work.

I love music of all types. I will listen to different styles depending on my mood and activity. Baroque classical music is for quiet reading time, fast up-beat rock/pop is for house work, and others change without notice. My ipod is filled with music of all types and I never know what I will hear next when I set it on "shuffle."
